SOURCE – Georgia is now allowing people to get their drivers’ licenses without having to take a driving test during the coronavirus pandemic. Qualifying teenagers in the state just need their parents’ permission to get one.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed an executive order last week that is still in effect due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The road test requirement has been waived for teens applying for driver’s licenses, but other requirements such as completing necessary driving hours with parents is still required, according to Georgia’s Department of Driver Services.

“What the executive order does, it allows the teen driver to go to that next phase without having to take that road test because of social distancing problems, obviously, in trying to provide the test,” Spencer Moore, the commissioner at the Department of Driver Services, told CBS affiliate WSB-TV.

I love this move! Drivers tests are unnecessary It’s just a bunch of old bags with sticks up their asses just looking for one reason to fail you. It took me twice to pass the written part of the test. Driver’s Test though? Passed that with flying colors. I set up two trash cans outside my house and parallel parked in between them (in a minivan) for a whole week. You read that right. I took the Driver’s Test in a minivan. You know how hard it is to parallel park a minivan? Before the invention of the rear camera? Say what you want about my reading and comprehension, but when it comes to whipping heavy machinery I’m Dale Earnhardt reincarnated.

There’s no reason to have Driver’s Tests anymore because they’re not based on real life driving situations. My buddy in high school failed his test because he went over the white STOP sign line because there was an obstacle that blocked his vision from making a turn. Supposedly you have to stop in front of the white line first and then creep up? No one in the history of driving has stopped in front of that white line and then inched out. In Philly you’re lucky if people make a full stop at the STOP sign instead of rolling through. Also, I feel like besides Atlanta, Georgia is 90% country. There’s no chance 99% of drivers need to learn to parallel park when you have a two mile long driveway on your ranch.

Say what you want about Georgia. Terrible at social distancing. World class at common sense when it comes to Driving Test’s.
